Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) works by changing people’s attitudes and their behavior by focusing on the thoughts, images, beliefs, and attitudes that are held (a person’s cognitive processes) and how these processes relate to the way a person behaves, as a way of dealing with emotional problems.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol, and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.

Through the years of professional experience working within the mental health community – both in and outpatient environments – I have developed specific tools and will implement scientifically proven interventions to assist you, your family, and/or the support system around you. We will work together to identify, evaluate, plan, and facilitate a supportive, progressive, and self-propelling pathway to becoming your best self.

I offer sessions, both in-person and on the phone. We will start with an initial assessment to clearly define your short and long-term goals, everything from communication skills to personal acceptance. We will use these goals as a foundation to create a strategy for attaining these objectives. Identifying barriers and opportunities through self-discovery leads to fulfilling the client’s objectives. By not only seeking clarity but understanding how to do it effectively and authentically, you can use it as a compass as you navigate through creating your own pathways. 

Create Pathways Counseling utilizes a novel empowerment model that encourages and allows for client-driven proactivity in setting goals. As a counselor, I work with a wide range of clients, couples, and families and offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual circumstance. Personal and lifestyle counseling and psychotherapy utilizes individualized models designed to assist clients in initiating, imagining, preparing for, and homing in on existing resources.
